Canoeing

While canoeing down the Tongue River we found an old abandoned house.
It was amazing, it had the view of the Big Horn Mountains, the river in the front pasture, and it was beautiful structure. It amazes me that houses are left to rot like this one.
It had a fleet or army, I should say, of mosquitos watching it harbor though..
There were alot of sand bars to stop and get out of the canoe and swim. Lots of fresh water mussles, we even had a blue heron flying along the river in front of us during our journey.

Elk Refuge

Playing by the stream, enjoying what Nature brings.
We swam, ate lunch, watched clouds, panned for Gold, and even went through knife safety with our youngest who is 4 1/2 years old.
It was refreshing and therapeutic. The peace that a place can bring is so wonderful.
Can place bring peace?

Singer Sewing Champion

I just embraced the new title,  Singer sewing machine whisperer.. I am trying my hand making a hand bag, with the patient and caring  teacher, Carmella.  The green design material will be the interior of the bag, it is very lovely.
Part of becoming a Singer whisperer is understanding and become Zen with your machine. Learning to sew with a 1930's machine, lets you embrace the mechanic inside you. I whipped out my mini-screw driver and tightened the bobbin, as well as gutted the old thread and replaced the upper threading. Sleeves rolled up, lips slapping slavia on cotton thread, looking for glasses I don't have or really need, struggling to get the thread back into the eye of the needle. It's like spearing a knat with a toothpick.

Friends

Our new herd of chicks. These two remind me of the importance of having good friends you can lean on wing to wing.

Heritage

My great-grandparents. I feel whole knowing about them, seeing pictures of them. I remember my great-grandmother giving me gifts as a young girl. She enjoyed collecting rocks, and shells. Maybe thats why I enjoy looking at the Wyoming soil so much when I hike. I am looking for special rocks too.

Rhubarb Pie.. Its fun having something growing in your garden, that you pick, chop and make a beautiful dish with. Fresh food is magical, what do you bake that makes you feel that magic?
